This is information for Chris Mason![]() Its Bristol born MACE THE ACE on Tour who is great pals and former room mate of a certain MR BRISTOW, so he will have a story or two to tell no doubt, One of Darts great characters and a real popular player on both the PDC circuit and with Darts fans alike, Mace will head to your local to entertain you. Chris is now based in Stoke On Trent so bear that in mind when booking as you may need to provide accomodation, Chris also asks that you supply his drinks, so what do you think, 2 PINTS OF LAGER AND A PACKET OF CRISPS PLEASE. I THINK NOT, BRACE YOURSELVES FOR A BIG HEAVY NIGHT OF DARTS AND FUN Chris says, I have been taking part in exhibitions since the mid 90s where I learned my trade from the great Bobby George, who I used to drive mad because I wanted to play all night when we first went on the road. I am a great believer that an exhibition should be about everyone involved enjoying themselves and most of all providing some great darts and leaving you with lasting memories of a night of darts with Chris Mason. I play 16 legs of 501/701 with 8 in the first half and a short break where I sign autographs and take part in any photo opportunities. The Player of the night receives a Chris Mason Trophy and every players receives a certificate of their participation, also all the players get a friend loved one to fill out a short player profile form just to give myself and the MC Paul Booth some useful material, so we expect plenty of gossip, with Pauls 20 years experience on the microphone, the full Darts stageset, the superb sound system, the walk on music, plus FUN as standard we GUARANTEE you a DARTS EXHIBITION to remember. And just to give you an insight into my DARTS WORLD, My first darting influence was my father who was a county player along with some greats of the game including Leighton Rees, Alan Evans, Mike Gregory Bob Anderson and many others who represented Avon/West Of England county squad. I also represented Avon on many occasions and also played for Dorset and London, I represented England whilst playing for London, I made 2 appearances and won both my games before being dropped due to my commitment to the PDC. Playing for London and England was a special achievement as it emulated my sporting hero Eric Bristow MBE, I first met Eric whilst at a holiday camp event in 1980 and vowed then that one day I would be a professional player but never thought he would become one of my closest friends. I won my first World ranking event in the mid 90's after just turning pro and won the Scottish Open, made even more special as it was the europe cup on the same weekend so the quality of the field was superb. The same year I made my television debut against Roland Scholten in the Unipart Masters, following this I then made by debut in the Embassy World Professional Championships against Andy Fordham. Over the past 13 years years I have won the England Open and the Irish Masters which was shown on Sky Sports, which was where I made my first impact in the sport when I reached the finals of the World Pairs with Steve Raw, we were eventually beaten 18-15 by Phil Taylor and Bob Anderson. The Embassy holds some great memories including my epic match with World Champion Martin Adams where I recovered from 4 sets to 1 behind to eventually win in the tie breaker, alas I lost to the eventual winner Raymond Van Barneveld. The following year I lost in the Semi Final in the Winmau World Masters 3 sets to 2 to eventual champion John Walton. Then my greatest ever performance in the Embassy where I got revenge on Raymond Van Barneveld and beat 3 sets to 1 with a 102 Average, I also beat Andy Fordham in the Quarter Finals then lost to Ted Hankey in a Semi Final that had 38 180's in 9 sets, Ted went on to win the final. I also reached the Semi Final of the Stan James World Matchplay losing to Ronnie Baxter 13-11, the quarter finals of the Las Vegas Desert Classic, and the Quarter Finals of the World Grand Prix. I have had great success on the ranking tour lifting over 40 titles world wide including 3 ranking titles in the Great Yarmouth Pro ranked events.
